With 277 locomotives delivered, Re 4/4 II is the largest traction unit series in Switzerland to date. The Re 4/4 II was built and put into service for 21 years from 1964 to 1985. The first series – totalling 49 locomotives (11107-11155) – was delivered between January 1967 and November 1968. With a weight of 80 tonnes, its hourly output was 4,700 kW with a maximum speed of 140 km/h.
